Getting splashy with rain gardens

Just did this story about a type of gardening that helps control the flow of storm water for a local newspaper. If you live in a flood-prone area, rain gardens are an unusually pretty way to keep water from downspouts out of the streets — and your basement.

    1. πŸ™‚ Who knew this is what would happen after that water main failure made us redo a whole lot of stuff? This time, we landscaped with deer in mind and it has been much easier and prettier. Hope all is well out your way!!

    1. Thanks! Flowers do make me happy! I hadn’t heard of this kind of garden before, either. We need to unhook a couple of downspouts and may try one of these in a corner of the front yard. Have a great weekend!

  1. Your flowers are beautiful! I’ve never heard of “rain gardens” before but the concept makes a lot of sense. How lovely that it will solve a problem as well as provide a habitat to birds, bees, and butterflies.
