Temporary can be spectacular.
Consider the Tabernacle — the portable temple that traveled with Israel during the 40 years it took to shed slavery.
Blue, purple, scarlet, gleaming gold. Linen fine enough for a bride. Yet this embodiment of God’s presence on earth eventually turned to dust.
Like us. All of us.
Mortal bodies are great equalizers.
Yet in spite of our temporariness — and contrariness — we are as much God’s workmanship as that elaborate tent. More so. The Tabernacle was God designed. We are God breathed.
Immortal souls should we choose to take Him up on His offer to make us something more than our dusty shells would suggest is possible.
We, too, can be temporary temples, traveling with Him on our own journeys between slavery and a freedom that will last forever.
Eternal can be spectacular.
